Who says Covid cases rising in Bangladesh?

A busy street in the Gulistan area of Dhaka on Wednesday is crowded with people moving around with none wearing face masks.

After declining for months, coronavirus cases are surging fast in Bangladesh from the middle of June. The number of cases remains high at over 2,000 a day for the past several days and the infection rate rises to over 15 percent.

Yet, people look careless as they are not following any health guidelines, including wearing face masks. Rising cases and people's negligence have forced the government to enforce law so that people use masks, at least in public places. Otherwise, the government said punitive measures will be taken against the violators.

But in reality the scenario is different in Dhaka as people are least bothered to use face masks.

A photojournalist of the Business Insider Bangladesh visited some public places in Dhaka, where he saw almost all people were mask-less and there was no social distance, as well.
