12 lakh AstraZeneca doses arrive from France

Bangladesh on Sunday received nearly 12 lakh doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from France.

An Emirates flight carried the consignment of 11,97,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine that arrived at Shahjalal International Airport on the day.

This is in addition to a consignment of 20.6 lakh doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine French gave to Bangladesh on November 29 through the Covax facility.

The France government has made the sharing of Covid-19 vaccines one of its priorities, in solidarity with the countries hit by the pandemic and in order to help accelerate vaccination coverage on a global scale.
