Bangladesh soon to ink vaccine production deal: Health minister

Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed with a country in the next two to four days to manufacture Covid-19 vaccines in Bangladesh.
The minister said this at a launching event of a new daily newspaper at a hotel in the capital on Monday.
However, the minister did not mention the name of the country or the company the MoU will be signed with.
Maleque also said the initiative is taken in per with the prime minister’s instructions.
District hospitals are being modernized and eight specialised hospitals are being built at division levels at a cost of Tk 300 crore, the minister said.
These hospitals will treat kidney, cancer and heart patients thus patients will not have to come to Dhaka facing many difficulties for better treatment, he added.
