Walton donates Tk 3cr to PM’s relief fund

Electronics manufacturer Walton has donated Tk 3 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund to support the government in the ongoing battle against the deadliest coronavirus pandemic.

Last year, it had contributed the same amount to financial assistance to help the government combat the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, said a press release.

Golam Murshed, managing director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries, donated the money on behalf of Walton. He handed over the cheque to Ahmad Kaikaus, principal secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, at PM’s Office on Thursday.

The prime minister attended the function virtually from her official residence Ganobhaban.

Among others, Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited Deputy Managing Director Liakat Ali and Walton’s Executive Director Jahidul Islam were also present.

Thanking Walton for the donation, the Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary appreciated Walton’s contribution to various socio-economic activities.
