2 Nagad employees win South Asian BFSI Tech awards

Two employees of Nagad, a prominent MFS provider in Bangladesh, were honored with prestigious awards at the "South Asian BFSI Tech Summit" held in Nepal recently.

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of Nepal, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, presented the awards to 46 individuals, including the two Nagad employees, representing six South Asian countries, reports a press release.

Shahriar Ibne Zaman, chief programme officer of Nagad, received the "Digital Transformation & Innovation" award. Alongside, KM Monsurul Aziz, head of marketing strategy and planning of the SME provider, was honored with the "PR and Marketing Communications Professional of the Year" award. Both achieved this distinction in the "Rising Star" category.

The inaugural session of the South Asian BFSI Tech Summit & Awards, held in Kathmandu from February 29 to March 1, 2024.

Over 250 participants, including industry leaders, policymakers and influencers from the banking sectors of six SAARC regions: India, Bangladesh, Maldives, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Nepal took part in the session.

The event aimed to recognise top innovations and technology in the BFSI and IT sectors across these countries.

Featuring more than 10 sessions, the summit hosted over 40 speakers who shared their insights and expertise on various topics.

Nagad's BMW mega campaign from last year not only stirred considerable excitement within the country but also made an impact across other parts of the South Asian region.

This innovative initiative, which played a significant role in driving a substantial increase in digital financial transactions, has now garnered recognition for the two Nagad employees at the South Asian BFSI Tech Summit.

In his instant reaction, Zaman said, "Winning any award is always a matter of happiness. I feel truly honored as this recognition bears testimony to the contributions I've made towards digital transformation and innovation within my company.”

Besides, Monsurul Aziz remarked, "I am deeply honored to have received this recognition for my contributions to marketing and communications at Nagad last year. This achievement reflects the ongoing growth and progress that Nagad is currently undergoing.”
