Walton bags SAFA Overall Winner, Gold Award

Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, a prominent electronics company in Bangladesh, has been honored with two prestigious awards – the Overall Winner and Gold Award – by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) for its outstandingly presented Annual Report-2022.

Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC received the esteemed 'SAFA Gold Award' in the manufacturing category.

Additionally, the Bangladeshi tech giant was recognized as the 'Overall Winner' in the SAFA 'Best Presented Annual Report Awards, Integrated Reporting Award, and SAARC Anniversary Award for Corporate Governance Disclosure in 2022.

Walton received the SAFA award in 2021 as well.

Noteworthy is the fact that SAFA, established in 1984, is committed to enhancing transparency, accountability, and governance for companies in the South Asian region. It represents countries such as Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.

Md Rafiqul Islam, FCS, senior executive director and company secretary of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, received the awards from SAFA President CA. Nihar N. Jambusaria during a ceremony held at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India at Hotel Radisson Blue in New Delhi, India, on December 22, 2023.

Among others, Walton’s Senior Executive Director and CFO (Acting) Jakir Hossain Bhuiyan, Deputy Executive Director Md. Sazedul Kabir and Assistant Director Md. Sharif Hossain also attended the event.

Previously, Walton also received accolades from ICSB, ICAB, and ICMAB for the best presented Annual Report in 2022.
