Walton-DRU Media Cricket begins Monday

The Walton-DRU Media Cricket tournament kicked off at the Outer Stadium in Paltan area of the capital Dhaka on Monday (Nov 20).

A total of 55 media houses, divided into eight groups, participated in this competition, which is organized by Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) and sponsored by Walton High Tech Industries Limited.

To provide detailed information about the tournament, a press conference was held at the conference room of the DRU on Saturday.

DRU President Mursalin Nomani expressed, "Fifty teams will engage in this year's tournament, began on Monday. We play for fun and foster a cordial relationship among all participants."

Nomani extended his gratitude to the sports journalists involved in organising the event and also thanked the sponsoring organisation, Walton.

He expressed optimism that the tournament would conclude in a joyous atmosphere.

During the press conference, DRU General Secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel, Sports Secretary Mahbubur Rahman, and Rabiul Islam Milton, Deputy Executive Director of sponsoring organization Walton, also addressed the gathering.
