The global instant communication platform imo has stepped in to assist flood-affected people from the north and north-eastern region of Bangladesh.

On June 22, imo rolled out a free-data donation campaign, offering data worth over Tk 40 lakhs to the users in Sylhet division, completely free of charge, said a press release.

From the total volume, the data allocation has been made as follows – 512MB for Grameenphone users; 300MB for Banglalink users, 1GB for Robi users, and 1GB for Airtel users.

This shall facilitate up to 1550 minutes of the audio call and up to 550 minutes of video call for the imo users in the region, as they struggle to communicate with dear ones and seek necessary funds, aid etc.

The free data comes with 3-days’ validity from the date of activation. Besides this, imo has also set up a dedicated Channel named “Bangladesh Relief” in order to fast-track relief and donation collection for the victims from the inundated regions.

The Channel is collecting and broadcasting multiple Ngo’s help and has already gathered over 20 thousand followers.
