Q3 earnings of BSC rise 183%

Bangladesh Shipping Corporation Limited (BSC) has posted a 183-percent increase in its earnings in the third quarter ended on March 31, 2022, as against the same quarter last year.
Its earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk 3.31 in the Q3, up from Tk 1.17 recorded in the same period a year earlier, said the company in a filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Thursday.
As of March 31, 2022, the company’s net asset value (NAV) per share stood at Tk 69.31 against Tk 60.28 as on June 30, 2021.
Meanwhile, the company had consolidated earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 11.59 in the first nine months of the current financial year (July’21-March’22).
The EPS for the same period of the previous financial year was Tk 2.83. As a result, the company’s profit increased by Tk 8.76 or 309 percent.
The company has also informed that EPS has increased significantly in this period comparatively last year’s period due to a significant increase in fares of the shipping sector internationally.
