Nazir Alam appointed new chair of Uddipan Energy

Nazir Alam has been nominated as the Chairperson of Uddipan Renewable Energy Limited (UREL), a subsidiary entity of the development sector organisation (NGO).

Alam is a prominent businessman, development worker and Honorary Consul of the Bangladesh Consulate of the Democratic Republic of Congo, said a press release.

“Heading this entity as its new chairperson, my purpose is to highlight the incredible scopes of renewable energy by making sure everyone can avail of high-quality products and advanced technologies at low cost, said a press release quoting Consul Alam.

“More importantly, our greater objective is to become a competitive player in the national and international markets in these sectors through UREL,” he added.

At present, Nazir Alam is also serving as an Advisor of International Affairs and an honourable member of the General Body of Uddipan.

Founded in 1984 with the slogan 'Uddokta Unnoyone Uddipan’, Uddipan currently possesses 863 branches and 8 lakh and 67 thousand members.
