ICAB seeks support of BSEC for betterment of accounting profession

Delegates of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) delegates requested Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam to continue his support for the betterment of accounting profession and the economy of the country.

Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam in reply assured them of his full cooperation in the days to come.

The delegates made the call when ICAB President Md Shahadat Hossain paid a courtesy call on the chairman of BSEC recently at his Agargaon office in Dhaka, reads a press release.

The other members of the ICAB delegation comprised of Vice Presidents N K A Mobin, Fouzia Haque and Chief Operating Officer Mahbub Ahmed Siddique.

Issues regarding audit fees, compulsion of having chartered accountants in listed entities as independent director and as CFOs/company secretary, and strengthening role of independent directors, were the pressing issues of the meeting, the release added.
