Primesaia University celebrates 50th anniversary of country’s victory

Primeasia University has celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the country's victory with due respect to the martyrs of the Great War of Liberation in a befitting manner on the campus.

The university was colourfully decorated and the buildings were illuminated marking the celebration, said a press release.

Moreover, early in the morning of Victory Day 2021, the national flag was hoisted atop the main building of the university, and a floral wreath was offered as an homage for a free nation to the three million martyrs who sacrificed their lives and freedom fighters whose supreme sacrifices made independent sovereign Bangladesh.

As part of the weeklong celebrations, felicitation to the heroic freedom fighters and a discussions session were held on Tuesday at the university’s IQAC Conference Hall of Star Tower of Banani in Dhaka.

Besides, Primeasia University Cultural Club made the event more colourful by performing a cultural programme in the afternoon.

AKM Bahauddin Bahar, member of parliament (Cumilla-06), attended the programme as chief guest while Md Raihan Azad, vice-chairman of Board of Trustees, and Prof Dr Iffat Jahan, treasurer, were present as special guests.

Bahauddin Bahar handed over crests to freedom fighters Md Asad Ali and Nazrul Islam.

Freedom fighter Prof Dr ABM Abdullah, professor of Department of Textile Engineering of Primeasia University was awarded the Primeasia University Medal of Honor-2021 in this glorious ceremony.

Primeasia University is offering 100% free education to the families of the freedom fighters and for the first time in the country, up to 70% discounts on tuition fees are given to transgender, ethnic minorities, dalits, harijans, vedic communities, marginalised tea workers, rickshaw pullers, hawkers, homemakers, and extremely poor communities, the release added.
