DBC, ICMAB-JBCCI hold joint programme on public private sector investment

A seminar on “Economic Collaboration between Bangladesh and Japan: Public and Private Sector Investment" was organised jointly by Dhaka Branch Council, Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh and Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The event was held on Wednesday at the ICMAB Ruhul Quddus Auditorium in the capital.

ITO Naoki, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh and HAYAKAWA Yuho, JICA Chief were present as chief guest and special guest on the programme, according to a press release.

Yuji Ando, chief representative of JETRO, AKM Delwer Hussain FCMA, president of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) and Abu Bakar Siddique FCMA, president of ICMAB, AKM Kamruzzaman FCMA, treasurer of ICMAB, and Bakhtiar Alam FCMA, chairman of DBC, Asif A Chowdhury, president of JBCCI and Tareq Rafi Bhuiyan, secretary general of JBCCI were also present at the programme.

The discussants stressed on economic prospects, increasing flow of Japanese investment and FDI in Bangladesh and role of CMAs to ensure efficiency of Japanese investment in Bangladesh.

They also highlighted the importance of joint collaboration between ICMAB and JBCCI, Japanese companies and policymakers for improving the business environment of Bangladesh and creating more opportunities for engaging CMAs in the value added activities of Japanese companies and development projects.

Dr Syed A Mamun FCMA, Vice Chairman of DBC moderated the programme.
