Energypac has cleaned up the river around the G-Gas Mother Plant area of Dacop in Khulna on the occasion of World Rivers Day observed on Sunday as part of its CSR activity.

It took the initiative under the theme ‘River is my mother’ , said a press release.

“If we cannot save our rivers, we will have to face serious consequences,” said Humayun Rashid, managing director of Energypac.

Many of our rivers have already died. In this situation, Energypac as a socially responsible business entity has taken several initiatives to restore the lost charm of rivers and save the ecosystem, he added.

The release said Energypac invested around 7 crore in saving rivers and carrying out river-cleaning works in the area.

Beginning in 2017, approximately 1 metric ton of garbage has been extracted from the river areas, it added.

Meanwhile, Energypac has been conducting awareness campaigns on a regular basis to make people realise the significance of rivers.
