Leading mobile financial service provider BKash has provided 15,000 books to 27 organisations, including schools, libraries and voluntary organisations, for underprivileged children.

Bkash collected some of the books from visitors, writers and readers at the Bangla Academy Book Fair, while it donated some books from its fund, said a press release.

The MFS company distributed the books through a non-profitable organisation named Obhizatrik Foundation.

“BKash will remain engaged with such initiatives of nurturing reading habits among children in future,” said Mir Nawbut Ali, chief marketing officer of bKash.

BKash has so far provided 253,600 books to 3.2 million students from 2,900 educational institutions.

“This initiative of bKash has been praised by all for cultivating reading habit among the children. An effort like this by corporate organisations has set an example,” said Ahmed Imtiaz Jami, founder of the Obhizatrik Foundation.
