The SNV Netherlands Development Organisation in Bangladesh and the Dutch‑Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DBCCI) have jointly organised an international conference on inclusive business in Dhaka.

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, as chief guest, graced the programme took place at a capital hotel on Wednesday, said a press release.

Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Md Sirazul Islam, Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) Executive Chairman Shaikh Yusuf Harun, SNV Bangladesh Country Director Ismene Stalpers, DBCCI President Md Anwar Shawkat Afser were present, among others, at the fifth edition of the event.

Representatives from embassies, multilateral and bi-lateral organisations, INGOs, banks and NBFIs, businesses and government bodies took part in the conference.

With the theme ‘Inclusive Investment for Poverty Resilient’, this year's conference aimed to find how business inclusion can contribute to the overall economy.

“The conference opened the window to redefine the business challenges and stress more into sustainable business solutions to resilient poverty through innovations in the supply chains,” the release added.

“We firmly believe that new challenges foresee new opportunities and by accepting the harsh reality of coronavirus WITH adequate precaution measures, we are confident and well prepared to pick up the threads,” the organizations said.
