Bangladesh Bank has ordered all banks to keep their services off on Sunday and Wednesday as the Covid-19 situation is worsening day by day.

However, the transaction hours have been extended by an hour until 2:30 pm for August 2, 3 and August 5, respectively, the central bank said in a circular on Wednesday.

Bangladesh Bank’s offsite supervision department said in a circular that all banks in the country will be closed next Sunday and Wednesday, considering the current infection situation of the coronavirus.

Besides, transactions could be made on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am to 2.30 pm.

Currently, due to the strict restrictions of the government, transactions are allowed from 10 am to 1.30 pm.
