In consultation with the local administration banks can keep their services on in the lockdown areas.
Bangladesh Bank said this in a circular issued on Tuesday.
The BB made the decision as the government may impose a lockdown in divisional cities and district towns to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Bankers have to inform local administration so that they can run their operations uninterrupted in the lockdown areas, said the central bank.
Meanwhile, local administration in Chapainawabganj has imposed a week-long strict lockdown after a recent surge in Covid-19 cases in the district.
