Ahsan H Mansur made BB governor

The interim government on Tuesday appointed Ahsan H Mansur, an eminent economist, as the governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB).

He will serve for four years, according to a notification issued by the Financial Institutions Division.

 A gazette was issued in this regard by the Financial Institutions Division of the Finance Ministry on Tuesday night.

  Well-known as an analyst in the country’s financial sector, Ahsan Mansur is the executive director at the Policy Research Institute (PRI), a private research organisation.

He has previously held many important positions at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
