4 GMs of state-owned banks promoted to DMDs

The government has promoted four general managers (GMs) of two government banks to the post of deputy managing directors (DMDs).

On Monday, the Financial Institutions Division of the Finance Ministry issued a notification in this regard.

According to the notification, the GM of Agrani Bank Md Abdullah Al Mamun has been promoted to DMD of Janata Bank, effective from November 26.

Janata Bank GM Regina Parveen has been given the post of DMD at Agrani Bank. She will hold office from November 27.

Biswajit Karmakar of Janata Bank has been made DMD of the same bank and GM of Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation Parveen Akhtar has been promoted to the post of DMD of Agrani Bank. The promotion of both of them will be effective from December 1.

Also, in a major reshuffle, 15 DMDs in various state-owned banks and financial institutions have been transferred.

The transfer notification, signed by Deputy Secretary of Financial Institutions Division Meenakshi Barman, will be effective Monday.
