BB asks all banks to cut ties with CTO Forum

Bangladesh Bank on Wednesday asked all banks to cut ties with the CTO Forum, an organisation of technology officers of various institutes including banking sector.

At the same time, the central bank has asked the banks to inform it by March 11 after cutting their ties with the CTO Forum.

The sudden decision of the central bank over the CTO Forum has created confusion in the banking sector as technology officers of almost all banks are members of the forum.

Many officials of Bangladesh Bank are associated with the forum and it was formed under the patronisation of Bangladesh Bank in 2012.

The directive was given in light of a letter issued by the ministry concerned, a BB official told the Business Insider Bangladesh without elaborating much.
