BB asks banks to resolve customer complaints properly

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has ordered banks to resolve customer complaints within the stipulated time.
In a circular issued on Monday the central bank said it found that some banks are not resolving complaints of customers properly.
As per the previous circular of 2005, the banks were instructed to resolve the complaints within 10 to 45 days. Besides, instructions were issued to form complaint cells at zonal bank offices to address the issues.
According to the latest circular, the customer complaints should be received through a receipt. And the raised issue should be resolved abiding by the timeframe instructed on the previous circular.
The central bank issued the latest circular to ensure good governance and discipline in the banking sector and uphold the interest of the customers.
