6 specialised public banks to get MDs soon

The government is going to promote six deputy managing directors (DMDs) to the post of managing directors in specialised state-owned banks to bring dynamism in these banks.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal took a virtual interview of 21 DMDs of different state banks on Thursday.
Senior Finance Secretary Abdur Rouf Talukder and Senior Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division Md Ashadul Islam helped the finance minister in this regard.
The six banks are Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Karmasangsthan Bank, Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, Probashi Kallyan Bank, and the Bangladesh Housing Building Finance Corporation.
Presently, these institutions are being run by acting managing directors as the posts have remained vacant for the last six to eight months.
Appointment of managing directors in these institutions got delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, an official of the Financial Institutions Division said.
