Green Delta Insurance, BRAC Bank, Swiss Contact launch livestock insurance

Green Delta Insurance, BRAC Bank and Swiss Contact signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for providing livestock insurance to marginal farmers, on Thursday.

Earlier in August 2019, BRAC Bank and Green Delta Insurance in association with the Business Finance for the Poor in Bangladesh (BFP-B) launched Bangladesh's first ever livestock insurance coverage for the cattle farmers.

This time SwissContact will support the programme instead of BFP-B.

The scheme is likely to benefit the marginal livestock farmers who often face loss of the cattle due to accidents, diseases etc.

Selim RF Hussain, managing director & CEO of BRAC Bank was present at the signing ceremony held at the bank’s headquarters. Farzanah Chowdhury, managing director & CEO of Green Delta Insurance, attended the event virtually.
