The High Court on Tuesday asked a Japanese woman and a Bangladeshi man to stay together along with their two children in a Gulshan house for 15 days.

It also directed deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan police and Criminal Investigation Department to ensure their security, during this time.

The court also directed the deputy director of the social welfare department to ensure their welfare until further order.

The bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman came up with the order during a hearing on a petition filed by the Japanese mother, Nakano Eriko.

The High Court will review its decision on September 16, the Business Insider Bangladesh has learned.

Earlier on August 23, the HC bench asked the authorities concerned to shelter the siblings at the Tejgaon Victim Support Centre in a quality environment until August 31 amid a legal battle over their custody between the mother and the father.

Both of the parents are in a legal battle for winning custody of the children who flew to Bangladesh with their father, on February 21, this year.

According to the petition, Nakano Eriko, 46, and Sharif, 58, got married in July 2008 in compliance with the law of Japan. Nakano filed for divorce in January this year.
