Bangladesh to get 21cr doses of vaccine by early 2022: Health minister

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque has claimed that Bangladesh will get 21 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine by early 2022.
He said these vaccines will meet the need of 80 percent people in the country.
“We will not lag behind from any other countries in vaccination,” Zahid Maleque told this in a view exchange meeting with the Bangladesh Private Medical College Association on Saturday.
The health minister said that people of 18 years and above will be given vaccines to keep the country’s education sector well protected.
The government has already instructed the ICT division to take initiatives so that all eligible people can register their names for the vaccine, he added.
Citing the government’s achievement in dealing with the Covid-19-induced situation, Maleque said around one crore doses of vaccine are in the government’s possession and more two crore doses will come by next month.
Apart from that, three crore doses of vaccine from China, seven crore from Russia, seven crore of Johnson & Johnson and three crore of AstraZeneca vaccines will arrive in the country by early next year, he claimed.
