M Mainul Hasan appointed as new DMP commissioner

M Mainul Hasan, who was Deputy Inspector General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), a specialized intelligence and investigation wing of the Bangladesh Police, has been appointed as the new commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

He was appointed for the post of new DMP chief (current), according to a gazette notification, issued as per the order of President Mohammad Shahabuddin, reports BSS.

The notification was signed by Deputy Secretary M Mahabubur Rahman of police section-1 of the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs today.

Mainul Hasan will replace DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman who was transferred to the Police Headquarters as Additional Police Inspector General, the gazette notification said.
