Chief Minister of the Indian State of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the formation of the government for four consecutive terms and expressed her desire to work with the new government for mutual benefit.

Mamata made the remarks after making a phone call to the premier on Thursday evening, reports BSS.

During the telephone conversation, the West Bengal Chief Minister also congratulated the Bangladesh Prime Minister and the people of the country for the historic win of the Awami League in the 12th parliamentary polls.

She also greeted Sheikh Hasina for taking oath as the Prime Minister for the fourth term in a row.

Mamata also congratulated the family members of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to this end.

PM's Deputy Press Secretary KM Shakhawat Moon briefed newsmen about the matter.

During the conversation, both leaders discussed the issues of mutual and global interest.

They expressed their commitment to work in unison in the future for the development of the lives and livelihoods of the people of the two countries.
