12th JS polls: EC recommends transferring 47 UNOs

The Election Commission (EC) has recommended transferring 47 Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) of eight divisions aiming to hold the upcoming 12th general elections in free and fair manner.

The commission made the recommendation in a letter sent today to the senior secretary of the Public Administration Ministry.

Earlier, the EC instructed the ministry of home affairs and the ministry of public administration about the transfer of officers-in-charge (OCs) and UNOs.

According to this instruction, the Commission approved the transfer of 47 UNOs.

The EC said that OCs of 320 police stations and 250 UNOs could be transferred for holding the next elections properly, reports BSS.
