Massive fire breaks out at Cox’s Bazar Rohingya camp

A devastating fire broke out at Rohingya camp under Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Monday.

The fire originated from a block of the camp at around 3:20pm and spread out to several blocks within a moment, said an official of Ukhiya Fire Service Station.

Four fire-fighting units from the Ukhiya station and a number of units from adjoining areas rushed to the spot to douse the flame, the official said.

“We are staying more than 300 feet away from the fire as we are being failed to conduct our operation due to the intensity of the fire,” Emdadul Haque, an officer of the station told the Business Insider Bangladesh from the spot.
