DAG Imran dismissed: Law minister

Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Imran Ahmed Bhuiyan has been sacked from his post, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq has said.

The law minister said this while talking to reporters at Akhaura Railway Station Brahmanbaria this morning.

BSS adds: Earlier, the Law and Justice Division issued a gazette notification, dismissing Imran Ahmed Bhuiyan from the post of DAG by cancelling his 'appointment in the public interest'.

The gazette notification dated September 7, 2023, said the order will come into effect immediately.

While replying to another question about Begum Khaleda Zia, the law minister said there is no scope in law to send her abroad for treatment.

Talking about the recent statement of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on the possibility of going to jail, Anisul Huq said he doesn't know till now whether Fakhrul committed any crimes, otherwise why he (Fakhrul) is talking about the possibility of going to jail.

Anisul was received by the local leaders and activists of Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League when he reached the station by intercity Mahanagar Provati Train.
