President asks ACC to ensure prevention of corruption in dev sectors

President M Abdul Hamid on Monday asked the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to ensure required efforts to prevent corruption in all development sectors to build Bangladesh as a developed and prosperous country.

“Corruption is the main barrier to development and progress . . . Build a social movement against corrupt practices, “the President told the ACC delegation as they submitted the “ACC’s Annual Report - 2022” to him at Bangabhaban in the evening.

Abdul Hamid also directed the ACC, country’s anti-graft commission, to ensure that no officer-employee of it is involved in corrupt practices, President’s Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin briefed the newsmen later, reports Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha.

ACC Chairman Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah led the delegation. ACC Commissioners - Dr Md Mozammel Haque Khan and Md Zahurul Haque - and ACC Secretary Mohammad Mahbub Hossain were present.

During the meeting, the ACC Chairman informed the President about various aspects of the report and the overall activities of the Commission.

President’s Office Secretary Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salahuddin Islam, Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin and Secretary (attachment) Wahidul Islam Khan were present.
