Chawkbazar plastic factory fire under control

The fire that broke out at a three-storey plastic factory in Chawkbazar area of Dhaka on Monday has been brought under control.

fire brought under control around 2:20pm, Anwarul Islam, inspector of Fire Service and Civil Defence, told Business Insider Bangladesh.

The fire originated from the top floor of the factory around 12 pm and then immediately spread out to other parts of the building within a moment, he said

On receipt of information, a total of 10 firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control, the fire official said.

Further details including the source of the fire and its extant damage could not be known immediately, said Anwarul Islam, also in-charge of the media cell of the Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters.
