Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujiubr Rahman never bowed down to injustice, instead he worked for people of the country in every moment of his life despite sufferings, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday.
The premier was virtually addressing an event organised by Krishak League marking the month of mourning.
She said, “There was no desire for power in his life. Rather, he worked for the people. He sacrificed his life for the countrymen”.
The prime minister said Bangabandhu was sure that the nation will win. So, he did not lose heart even when he was in prison.
Mentioning that the fate of the people did not improve after August 15, Hasina said, “Military rule was imposed by killing the democracy”.
“The killers spread propaganda against Bangabandhu before assassinating him. But all their attempts turned into failure,” added the premier.
Sheikh Hasina said, “We want every family to be happy. We are stressing on education and arranging everything for them. We have ensured power for every home. Also, we are stressing on saving fuel considering the present global condition”.
