Commerce minister blasted in JS for higher commodity prices

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi was on Tuesday heavily criticised in the parliament for ‘his failure’ to keep the prices of essential commodities under control during the holy month of Ramadan.
After being a seasoned businessman, the commerce minister has failed to control syndication and the fact must be acknowledged, opposition Jatiya Party Lawmaker Pir Fazlur Rahman, said pointing finger at the commerce minister during Tuesday’s question-answer session of Jatiya Sangsad.
In response, Tipu Munshi said he has been doing business for the last 40 years and alongside doing politics for the last 56 years.
“Is it a crime to be a businessman?” questioned the commerce minister during the discussion on the ‘Trade Organisation Bill-2022.’
