64 secretaries to look after healthcare management in 64 districts

The government has assigned one secretary in each 64 districts to coordinate healthcare and other government activities to stem the spread of coronavirus across the country.

The order, which has recently been used by the Prime Minister Office, said the secretaries will conduct activities in a bid to halt the spread of the virus in coordination with local lawmakers, public representatives and concerned officials.

The secretaries will look after the law and order situation in their respective districts through the coordination and will place written reports to the concern ministries, divisions and departments to deal with the challenges to be found, according to the order.

Apart from this, they will inform their findings to the cabinet division and the Prime Minister Office on regular basis in light of the order.

Earlier, the government has gone on the similar move to halt the spread of coronavirus and to ensure proper distribution of relief materials among the coronavirus affected people.

As the country has been experiencing record-breaking Covid cases for the past few days, the government went on a weeklong countrywide lockdown from last Monday.

Besides, the government is mulling for imposing a stricter lockdown for another week from April 14, keeping all government and private offices and plying of public transport across the country, closed.
