Sharfuddin Ahmed, vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, on Thursday said that they are struggling to manage the rising Covid cases, which has surged to all-time high in recent days.
made the comments at a press conference this noon after inauguration of 50 new beds dedicated for coronavirus patients.
“Later, we will add another 50 beds to deal with the situation,” the BSMMU VC said while addressing the press conference virtually.
The number of high flow nasal cannula, oxygen concentrator and CPAP and RTPCR machines will be increased at the Betar Bhaban corona unit of the BSMMU to facilitate treatment to the patients, he said.
The BSMMU authority went on the initiatives when Bangladesh registered the highest number of coronavirus related deaths of 74 people and 6,854 news cases during the last 24 hours till Thursday morning.
