The government has fixed time for all government and private offices in the country from 9:00am to 3:30pm ahead of the month of Ramadan.

All government, nongovernment, semi-government and autonomous bodies and private organisations will have to follow the time schedule during the month of fasting likely to begin from April 14 based on sighting the moon.

Cabinet Division Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam announced the office time at a press conference after the weekly cabinet meeting held with Prime Minister Sheikh in the chair from her Ganabhaban residence virtually.

There will be a break for Zuhr prayers from 1:15pm to 1:30pm and the weekly holiday on Friday and Saturday will remain as before.

But, the cabinet secretary said, the banking, insurance, financial institution, postal, railway, hospital and state-owned mills and factories and other emergency service providing institutions will remain out of purview of the instruction.

Apart from this, the time for the Supreme Court and other courts across the country will be decided by the Apex Court, he said.
