Fire at Mohammadpur Krishi Market under control

A fire that broke out at Mohammadpur Krishi Market in the city was brought under control around 9:25 am on Thursday.

Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense (Operation and Maintenance) Lt Colonel Tajul Islam Chowdhury said this.

The market caught fire around 3:30 am on Thursday. A total of 17 units of the fire service brought the fire under control.

The 17 units of the firefighters along with the help of special teams from the Army, Navy and Air Force have become able to take the blaze under control.

At least 350 shops were gutted in the fire. The loss of the fire could not be estimated immediately, said Tajul.
