Land ministry warns against frauds, extortionists

The Ministry of Land on Thursday issued a warning against corrupt rackets that are forging the signatures of land ministry officials and issuing fake appointment letters for their own profit

It also warned against extortionists who are taking money from the ministry and its agencies and offices' officials by enticing them with transfers, even demanding money directly over the phone in the name of other land ministry officials.

There is no involvement of the Ministry of Land or any of its agencies in this regard, reads a press release.

Citizens are being advised to immediately inform law enforcement agencies if someone commits a serious and punishable criminal offense such as illegally demanding money in the name of the ministry and its officials, the press release further adds.

Additionally, all concerned are kindly requested to be careful not to get distracted by the activities of the fraud rackets. The land ministry has issued several warning notices in this regard.

If necessary, for any information related to the Ministry of Land, all are requested to verify the information from Information Providing Officer Md Abdur Rahman, the deputy secretary of the ministry.
