Islamic banking guru of Bangladesh Azizul Huq dies

M. Azizul Huq, a pioneer of Islami Banking in Bangladesh, passed away while undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka today.
He breathed his last around 8:00am, said a press release of Pubali Bank Limited.
Azizul Huq served as chairman of Shariah Supervisory Committee of different banks including Dhaka Bank, Bank Asia and Islamic Finance and Investment Limited.
He was also chairman of the Board of Directors of Pubali Bank Limited and last, he served as independent director and chairman of the Audit Committee.
He left behind a host of admirers to mourn his death.
The Board of Directors of Pubali Bank Limited and all levels of its officers and employees expressed their deep shock at the death.
They also extended sympathy to the bereaved family of Aziz and sought eternal peace of the eminent banker.
