12 new dengue cases reported

Dhaka (Oct 25, 2020): Twelve new dengue cases were reported in the last 24 hours until Sunday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Around 30 dengue patients are currently undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the capital and five others in other parts of the country, according to the DGHS handout.

Since January, around 573 people have been diagnosed with dengue and among them, around 539 have recovered from the disease, the DGHS said.

Bangladesh witnessed a massive dengue outbreak last year when 101,354 people were hospitalised and 101,037 recovered.

Dengue killed 179 people last year, according to official figures.
