Dhaka (Oct 25, 2020): The government is going for mandatory use of mask at every government and nongovernment offices across the country in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus.

From now, no mask, no service policy will be introduced and it will be inspected whether the policy is implemented at the government and nongovernment offices.

Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam unveiled the government’s decision while addressing a press conference after the weekly cabinet meeting this noon. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting virtually.

During the meeting, the cabinet was also informed about the steps taken by the health ministry to control the coronavirus infection across the country.

Responding to a query, Anwarul Islam cleared the government stance on the issue and said no one will be allowed to enter the office without mask and it will be written in front of all offices across the country.

Earlier, the government made wearing mask mandatory when anyone will come out but the people were seen reluctant in complying with the directives.

The coronavirus infection may worsen during the winter season and thus the government took such strong stance, the cabinet secretary said.

All concerned people have already been directed to undertake necessary measures ahead of the upcoming winter season to enforce the government decision to stop the spread of Covid-19, he added.
