Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, the nation's leading electronics giant, hosted a reception to honor the Bangladesh U-19 Women's Football team for their remarkable achievement in clinching the title of the First SAFF U-19 Women's Tournament.

They secured victory over India last month in a thrilling match.

Each of the 33 members of the team, including players, coaches and officials, was gifted a 32-inch Walton Smart TV.

Walton's Senior Executive Director, Iqbal-Bin Anwar Dawn, presented the awards to the players, coaches, and officials at the BFF Building.

Senior Deputy Executive Director Rabiul Islam Milton and Mahfuza Akhtar Kiran, Chairman of the Women's Wing of BFF, among others, were present at the event.

Before the final match, Walton presented a television to the parents of Sagarika, the tournament's top scorer and best player.

Walton officials learned from media reports that Mohammad Liton Ali, a tea shopkeeper and the father of Sagarika, did not have a television at home to watch his daughter's matches.

He borrowed a television from a neighbor to view her games.

Sagarika's outstanding performance, scoring two goals in the match, brought immense pride to her parents.

In recognition of her achievement, Walton brought Sagarika's parents, who reside in Ranisankail Upazila of Thakurgaon, to its Dhaka office on Mazar Road in Mirpur, to award them a television.
